For those wondering where on earth Saquenay is....its near Quebec, Canada.

That's a shame, unfortunately it means that either Tara or Elizabeth will have to get past American 4th seed Chrissie Seredni (ranked 629) to qualify. Tara may have an outside chance but it's unlikely.

Tara beat a 16 year old girl now ranked 616 in straights, so she can do it.

Seredni can barely win matches. Her only 2 recent wins have come over unranked Cubans.

Great! Tara can qualify then. She'll get a world ranking if she qualies, right? Or are there points for losing in the final round, too?

Oh good, didn't realise that Seredni was that out of form. I reckon Tara can beat Elizabeth so she's got a great chance of qualifying

She only needs to win 1 match to get a ranking point.

1 point for 2nd round...2 points for Final round...3 points if she qualifies.

I guess that Tara has a great chance of qualifying with that draw. She has beaten better players than everyone in her section.

Tara's first round opponent is 26 year old Catherine Gauthier, whose best ever performance in an international tournament is a second round appearence in a Grade 5 event.

Its great that Tara Moore is aiming high but are we getting carried away with

her prospects. i think she got a good future, but if shes loses in the 1st rd of qualies at 14/15 then it is not the end.

Fingers crossed for a win and a first WR!

I think she has 3 ranking points from her past adventures, so she should enter relatively high if she gets a win or two (from the old ranking system, there are quite a lot of people who is only ranking points come at the 0.25/0.75 level).

Anyway, fingers still crossed.

It's a different Catherine Gauthier. This one is still only 15...so she is very much an unknown quantity since she hasn't played internationally. She could be very strong or very week.

Not much chance that she is some hidden gem who hasn't played on the big stage, but you never know....
