Is Dorsch getting a lot of crowd support because of his involvements in that legendary Baylor team?
He is almost a local lad...

I'd be grateful of someone could maybe give me a brief transcript  of what Jamie said in the on-court interview so I can add that to my report on britishtennis.net.

Thanks

Unfortunately the loudspeakers on my computer don't work and I can't access any sort of audio stream on the web. I've got headphones but the connections are complicated and I can't work out how to get things to work at the moment.

That's why I'd be grateful if someone could provide a brief transcript.

Btw mate, welcome to this site   Many, many thanks for the brilliant coverage you've provided for this challenger this week, it's been great !  Like all of us here, I have and am thoroughly enjoying watching all the streams and following the score updates for the British matches. We all wish that there were more guys like you organising the other US challengers and the challengers over here !  Your Dallas site is by far and away the best US challenger site and possibly the best of all the challenger sites, (the ones for Wroclaw, Belgrade and Bratislava are the only ones which challenge it).

Is it ok if I use some of your photos of Jamie and Eric for my report on the final tomorrow on britishtennis.net.

I know this is off the GBR topic, but our first semi final singles match is so tough to watch. Sarstrand has inflamation in his shoulder and can't hit a serve above75mph. He has never played this much tennis in one week before. 7 matches in 7 days. I really feel for the guy cause he's another classy individual that I have come across this week.

Sounds like Sarstrand did really well to keep it to 4 and 4. Real bad luck for him, been a great week though, probably the best of his career. I remember the name from quite a few other tournaments as he's been a regular Brit-basher over the years I've always been surprised that he's not ranked higher.

Craig, what's Sarstrand's game like ?  Did you see his match against Jamie Baker earlier this week ?  That was an impressive result for Sarstrand as Jamie's been on top form in the US so far this year and it looked as though he was playing pretty well against Niland. From the highlights it seemed as though Sarstrand played a very clever tactical match and worked the rallies better, using the slice to take Jamie out of court or heavy topspin to push him back behind the baseline, thus opening up the court for a big shot. Jamie also seemed to make a few too many errors. Would you agree ?

If you dont mind, I'll respond after the Kendrick/Fleishman is over.  I do have some insight on Marcus.

Here's my take on Marcus"Big Cat" Sarstrand.  The guy first of all is cool as the other side of the pillow.  I don't care if he is up 5-0 or down 0-5, the emotion never changes.  Now I do think that it also might effect him in a negative way.  You have to show some emotion on the court.  Enough about that.  First of all, players play his backhand, which is his more consistent side.  He goes for more on his forehand, but rarely makes an error off that backhand wing.  He hits his backhand flat like Connors, but comes over it much more on the forehand side.  Injured or not injured, he definitely needs to improve the first serve.  I can probably guarantee that is the main reason he hasn't moved higher than the 200's.  He does get a high % of first serves  in, but rarely gets any free pts off of it.  To conclude his game, I love his groundies and his heart.  Most players would have tanked, down a set and a break vs. Dorsch, but he never quit.  In my eyes, that says a lot about a player.

Now for his match vs. Jamie.  I definitely think Keith will use this match from time to time.  Marcus never missed, but Baker also didn't put much pressure on him either.  When you play Sarstrand, you have to take the game to him.  I watched everyone of his matches, and players insisted on staying back, thinking they could eventually overpower him from the baseline.  Against Baker, he took the pace off majority of the balls and that is definitely the hardest players to play.  If you guys could have witnessed Dorsch and his coach getting into it after his match vs. Marcus, you would understand what I'm talking about.  Benedikt has played the best players in the world, college and pro and said that was the most frustrating match of his career.

Gents, I need a few brews after this long week.  Check the blog out tomorrow.

Butorac/Murray vs. Ram/Reynolds.  1 vs 2  should be a ballbuster.

Here you go, shedman: (this is beyond the call of duty)

Let's get a take on that match:

EB: Jamie & I havent played since last summer, so we're kinda just getting a feel for things again, but each match we're getting better and better and hoping to do the same tomorrrow.

The quality of tennis in the first was very high. It came down to a couple of deciding deuce points. You guys ripped some winners, broke Gonzo twice. We're you getting a read on his serve in the first?

JM: Butie was (laughs) I mean he was returning big. He hit the smack one down the line to break him. He didn't make so many first serves and what-not, and we capitalised on that.

It was great to finally have a doubles match on the centre court, you've always been playing on the other court. The crowd, I mean, they were in awe of the way you guys were playing together.....

JM: You should have had us on there earlier (laughs)

.....Is this a partnership we're going to see for the next few tournaments?

EB: Yes. Hope it continues. We're planning to play at least throughout the summer, and maybe the rest of the year as long as things keep on going well. But, so far so good, I guess. We'll just try to keep it up and keep things working.

Into the finals, very impressive. I know that both you guys have been following stuff on our website. We're having people all over the world check you guys out. Anything you want to say to the fans back home?

EB: Yes, I guess I know a lot of my friends and family are following back home. I know my Dad is probably watching a couple of movie clips....

JM:wave, wave!

EB:(waves)....So Hi Dad, and Hi to everyone else who'se watching.

JM: I've got to shout out to my Mum and everyone else in Scotland and England who's watching us. And keep rooting for us!

Congratulations, guys. Good luck tomorrow.

JM: Thank- you, Cheers.

EB: Thank- you very much.
