Excel how much, Arka? They are already in the semis - would making the final do, or must they win?

Not quite, Las Vegas is next week ;) Although you're right that they're doing well this week in Memphis.

No Jamie and Eric.

Looks like they missed the cut by a whisker!! The cut was 104 and their combined ranking is also 104, maybe Becker and Reynolds were chosen on a first come first serve basis? That's the rule for entry into Futures qualies and stuff..

Maybe they decided to give Vegas a miss and recuperate for Indian Wells considering that they've made 3 finals in 3 weeks !

Doubt it. Andy said yesterday that he was going to Vegas and would see Jamie there. So unless it was a real last moment decision....

It's weird that the Ratiwatanas were given a WC ahead of them.

Shame they're not there but if they can persuade IW to give them a wildcard then it's probably for the best as they have already played 3 weeks in a row, plus Vegas would have made IW the 5th in a row.

I guess we just have to hope that IW feel the pressure to give the pair a wildcard

By the way (sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere), Jamie and Bootie have made the big time - they are one of the featured articles on the ATP homepage

Yeah, they missed the cut. Jamie said that they are signing in for alternates.

If Jamie and Bootie dont get a WC to IW then Andy says he will play with Jamie.

Given that the IW organisers would probably love to have Andy playing doubles as well as singles, the fact that he's said that probably ensures that Jamie and Eric won't get a WC!

Still, Eric is an American who has won two of the last three ATP doubles Finals in America ...

Just shows how strong IW is, even with Andy - he and Jamie only just make the cut !

Given that Booty's a Yank, surely they'll want to give him an opportunity to get his ranking to the position where he can get DAs into the clay-court masters series and having won 3 straight titles, he's one of their best upcoming doubles players. It would be bizarre not to give him and Jamie a wildcard.

I wonder whether Jamie and Booty are still planning to head to Bogota the week before Miami (assuming they're not in the IW latter stages). Seemed a strange decision to play to play there instead of Sunrise. Bogota's on clay and Jamie's last experience of a South American challenger wasn't exactly pleasant.

Sunrise will have a really strong field and will give lesser points, so that's an explanation.

But I agree, seems a bit odd.

Sunrise gives lesser points ! That's crazy ! Is Bogota a 125K+H then ?

Maybe they want to use it as a warm-up for the upcoming European clay season, try out some tactics

Yeah, Bogota is a 125K+H.

Sunrise should have been a 150K.

Nope, but you are allowed to have 150Ks and even 150K+Hs.

150K+Hs give the winner 100 points!!
