GBF4 - Exmouth - 2007.

Most disappointing. Matt Smith is surely not far away from stringing a few wins together though.

It's not hard to list all the doubles results here:

R1: Wot, no R1?

QF: 3 byes and Grambow/Meigel w/o Coupland/Nott

SF: (1) Bamford/May beat Grambow/Meigel by 4 & 4
SF: (2) Qureshi/Pura w/o (3) Huber/Niland

FI: (1) Bamford/May v (2) Qureshi/Pura

So, only 5 teams entered (c.f. the usual 16 for a doubles draw) and 2 withdrew leaving just 3 teams ... and the Final will be only the second match played in the whole of the doubles draw ... that's if it is played.

Why didn't some of us go down there and enter?

I know, massive opportunity missed there. Me and big Steve, we would have made an awesome combo !

Count could have shown off his Monfils like capabilities for running balls down Who knows what we could have accomplished

What's the prize money for a losing doubles quarter- finalist?

I think you get a voucher each for the hotdog stand.

Edit: At a 15k you can have onions!

No, I don't think anything could be quite that big a joke! Devilder thinking he was finished and leaving, and having to be dragged back because somebody else withdrawing meant he had won the group after all - not to mention the number of "tactical" withdrawals - has surely made BA just about the biggest farce of all time.

There's been loads of dead matches and sets because people who've won and people who've lost keep withdrawing.

Devilder thought he was out and left the city but then someone else retired which meant he ended up winning the group, but they couldn't find him so Ferrero was going to play QF's then they found Devilder.....

Terrible explanation and there was lots more besides

They were handed the title on a plate, but decided to drop it:

Qureshi & Raja (WR 1038) bt Bamford & May (WR531) 7-6(4) 6-3

- still, that's 12 points for their totals.....

Just like to say I'm sorry that I didn't get around to watching any more of the tennis than I did, but I've spent the last week and a half in bed with a chest infection.

I was intending to go on the Tuesday, but when I woke up I could barely move and just felt so ill, and haven't spent much of the last week out of bed after that.

Good to see a few of the Brits picking up wins though

Yes, I noticed that you weren't online.

Hope the infection is all right now?
