Last night Blake did the business and saw off Becker
Unfortunately, Massu was too good for Montanes, and advances to just 20 points behid Tim
He plays Luis Horna in the final, tonight, so we need your best and sharpest pins to go into the Massu wax doll, oh ladies of the coven, otherwise Tim'll be down to World number 40
The ATP has placed Tim above Chela. They're on the same number of points, but Chela has (on my reckoning) 365 points from mandatory tournaments, while Tim only has 355, which should put Chela above Tim???.....
The rulebook says:
Ties. When two or more players have the same total number of points, ties shall be broken as follows: 1) the most total points from the Grand Slams, ATP Masters Series tournaments and Tennis Masters Cup main draws, and if still tied, then, 2) the fewest events played, counting all missed Grand Slams, ATP Masters Series Tournaments and Tennis Masters Cup they could have played (as described under 1.above) as if played, and if still tied, then, 3) the highest number of points from one single Tournament, then, if needed, the second highest, and so on.
I've double checked. But please do check as well..
Maybe they've made a mistake. Maybe they're only counting points from matches won (i.e. a first round loss counts zero??) the same thing has happened with Gimelstob & Lopez.

well I've double checked now and the points you have are right. If they only count points from matches won then the maths works but logically that doesn't because you still get 5 points for a first round loss at grandslam (and masters?) level so it would be stupid if that's what they've done. And making a mistake with two sets of players is a bit strange.
The only thing I can suggest is that you try and email them to find out what's going on!
