Tough draws for Alan and Josh but winable if they can bring their 'A-game'
On the upside, if Jamie can qualify he is guarenteed a winable match.
Having said that Michael McClune may be one to watch. 652 is a good ranking for a player who will be elibible for junior tennis for another 11 months and he has earned his points buy winning matches on the American futures circuit.
Baker vs Niland is sheduled for 10 am local time which I believe is 4pm on this side of the pond.
I reckon Jamie should win this one fairly comfortably. He's on fire right now. Hoping for another big run this week.
Off topic, but who runs the Jamie Baker website. I noticed it hasn't been updated since last year. I would be happy to update the site if it would help.

USM does it. There are some Baker articles on britishtennis.net, maybe he's slowly moving it there?
Not really. Only 10 of his 65 points come from WCs that he didn't deserve, so the scenario is much better than what it was before.
He also happens to be the highest ranked 17 year old in the world (Don't remember anyone ranked higher). That's reason enough for a lot of hype.
Yes, he does get a lot of support, but we can't really blame someone for receiving proper aid. It's more of a credit of his.
I think that people are too harsh on him at times. What he has done till this point is pretty outstanding when you consider that he is still some distance away from being physically mature.

Fair enough. You know better than me! I wonder what your definition of a deserved wildcard is though!
If you look at Donald Young's activity he made the final of USA F1 and the quarter-final of USA F2 this year so it seems like he is finally being allowed to develop naturally rather than being thrown in (and out of) ATP tournaments he is not ready for.
Maybe the emergence of James Blake and the re-emergence of Andy Roddick has allowed the Americans to take a more practical view of the playing talent they have available. I think they got a bit desperate when it looked like they were losing touch with the top of the game.
