Weekly Competition 2007: The Brits' Progress

New competition will start ATP week 2

**** Total points after St Petersburg (new points)********

Eblunt 500 (120)
John 451 (0)
Foreverdelayed 269 pts (0)
Drew 244 (0)
Imoen 196 (0)
Johnnylad 139 pts (0)
Mkkeuk 131 (0)
UltimateShed 114 (0)
Arka 102 (0)
Michael 84 (0)
Sally 60 (0)
Steven 34 (0)
RobC 10 (0)
Montana 9 (0)

*************************************************

Each week all the participants make one prediction:

Which player will get through the most ATP tournament rounds, how many, AND who they go out to( or beat in the final).
For example Tim , 2 rounds, Roddick or Andy, 3 rounds, Nadal or Boggo , wins , beating Fed in final )

Note, for tournaments with RR groups, if think your chosen player will go out at the RR group stage, then effectively they go out to whover won the RR group, so you need to say who that is. Winning a game in the RR group does not count as getting through a round.

There is a weekly total of points ( say 120, for ease of division) shared between all competitiors who got it exactly right. Getting a bye in the case of RR tourneys, 48 or 96 draws would not count as getting through a round, though a W/O would count. In the case of no-one getting it exactly right, 60 pts would be shared between whoever got the correct player + number of rounds. Or correct player, if rounds not right. Running total of points carries forwards through the season, where the top 8 put have to make more predictions for the Masters Cup to determine the seasons winner.

Predictions would have to be provided BEFORE the first game in the tournament starts. I would be OK to work out the points each week and keep the table. ATP tournaments only. GS count double.

Important note on the points shareout : In the case of 2 players (e.g Tim and Andy) getting through the same number of rounds, then the points are firstly split between the 2 Tim and Andy, then between the players in this comp. Confused ? here's an example: Player A,B,C correctly predict Andy thru 3 rounds beaten by fed Players D, E correctly predict Tim thru 3 rounds beaten by nadal Greg only gets thru 2 rounds. Total points to share =120, So A,B,C get 20pts each D,E get 30pts each.

RE: Weekly Competition : The Brits' Progress

Week 5, and the only Brit in an ATP this week is Boggo at Delray beach, Unless Josh comes thru Qualies ......

Remember to put who he goes out to (unless of course you think he wins it).

In the case of a Brit player going out on a RR stage, it would be the player who won the RR group who is deemed to have put the Brit player out.

The first match at Delray will be starting by 17:00 GMT Sunday, so need entries by then.

Yeah. I'll change it after seeing the draw in case Josh decided to skip it and goes straight to the Challengers.

Christ this is complex !!!

Mackin and Aucks both out of qualifying, so it's only Boggo left in for the main draw

Boggo plays a quailier in the main draw elimination round. ( tomorrow I would imagine since they haven't actually played the finals of the qualifiers yet )

If Boggo gets through he is in a RR group with Kendrick and Blake.

As we don't know who Boggo is playing yet, I will wait until Boggo actually starts his match before closing entries.

Ed.

John, Drew,  please read above posts, you need to say who he goes out to. I.E,  in the case of going out at the RR stage, who wins the RR group.
