Jocelyn Rae (Gbr) bt Ekatrina Dranets (Rus, 633) 6-4 6-2
Piia Suomalainen (Fin) bt Katie Ruckert (USA) 5-7 6-4 6-3
Martina Pavelec (Ger) bt Ana Veselinovic (Ser) 6-4 6-3
Anastasia Poltoratskaya (Rus) bt Olga Panova (Rus) 5-7 6-4 6-2
Karen P result to come. She is playing number 1 seed. There was a result for Rebecca L on the BBC site, but it was the same opponent as R1, so who knows what is happening. She was said to have won 6-4 6-3 anyhow. I'll wait for the LTA update tonight to find the truth....
Well, they may not be Russian 15/16 year olds, but they are stepping up to the new level..... Fingers crossed for the QF.
Wow !! What brilliant performances from Rae and Windley this week, I must definately check Windley's match out on Monday at Sutton.
What will this take Windley's ranking up to ? What a start to the season for her and Jocelyn Rae, anyone know where they train, foreign academies ? They definately look like one's to watch !
Great result for Karen Paterson aswell against the no 1 seed in rd2, that was some win.
Shame about Becky Llewellyn in the quarters today, she's been losing lots of close matches to opponents of that ranking in the past 6 months

Yeah they do still require 3 tournaments. Does that mean Windley has to play in 3 main draws or can it just be 3 tournaments regardless of whether she qualifies or not ?
I guess the good thing is that when she does get enough countable tournaments she'll come into the rankings a bit higher than those who scrape 3 first round wins to get their ranking... ...giving her a better chance in subsequent qualies!
She's ranked 6th in U18s in Britain. Trains at Woodhall Spa tennis club, Horncastle. She won a tournament in La Manga in November which had some of Britain's best U18s and between Christmas and New Year she made the final of an U18 grand prix event before losing to Jocelyn Rae.
