Either Vico, who'll be easier to beat, but who'll overtake if he does beat Richard, or Faurel, who's the number 1 seed, but out of the picture in terms of rankings.
So can we engineer a Vico win today, then a Bloomers victory tomorrow?
If Bloomers wins in Wrexham, he will rise to WR 180. Odesnik(F,Waikoloa), Garcia(W,San) and Montcourt(F, Durban) are threats. All 3 can overtake, so worst case is WR 183.
If Bloomers gets to the final, he climbs to 189 . Garcia(F,San), and Fognini (W, San) are threats. Both can overtake, so worst case is WR 191. (Still a career high)
If Bloomers loses to Faurel today, he stays at 200. Fognini (F, San) and Przysiezny (W, Wre) are threats. both can overtake, so worst case is WR202 .
Greg is at WR199. Bloomers(F, Wre), Fognini (F, San) and Przysiezny (W, Wre) are threats. All 3 can overtake, so worst case is WR202.
Josh is at WR215. Przysiezny (F, Wre) can overtake, so worst case is WR216.
Alan Mackin is at WR245. Jamie Baker can overtake, so worst case is WR246.
Jonny Marray is at WR250. Jamie Baker can overtake, so worst case is WR251.
Bloomers wins and is ranked 188!!! He's the new number 4 in British Mens tennis!
Whereabouts will he be ranked if he wins tomorrow (and ends up on 232 pts)
errr.....if you look up about 3 posts:
"If Bloomers wins in Wrexham, he will rise to WR 180. Odesnik(F,Waikoloa), Garcia(W,San) and Montcourt(F, Durban) are threats. All 3 can overtake, so worst case is WR 183."
The table's updated, and it'll need extending again Richard climbs to WR189.
.....which knocks Greg down to World number 200 and British number 5.
It's been a really bad fortnight for Josh. Przysiezny is the latest of umpteen players to overtake him, and he's now ranked 216. Which is where he'll end the week.
