Week 32 - ITF ($25K) - Chiswick, GBR - Hard

They did play at Woking - first round bye as top seeds, then lost the QF.
In the semis they play the winners from last week in Woking - Galfi and Grammatikopoulou

He also watched Jodie's match, but there were a lot more spectators there

Ah dilute the Bates effect seems a plan

As the head of women's tennis, I would expect Jeremy to watch as much of the British players as possible.

So would I, Paul, at least for a handful of games. But he didn't watch Maia at all, not even one game, and she followed Emily Ap. He may have caught the end of Sam's match as she was on court before Jodie. I doubt whether he saw any of the other players at all, Fran, Alicia, Ella, Emily AR and Beth.

Just the chosen few ? !!

He must be in line for a bumper bonus with the way Katie B, Harriet, Katie S, Gabi and Katy D have been performing with 7 in the top 200 and Katy D not that far off

He didn't even know how old Sam was when he was talking a while back about her not getting a Wimbly quali wildcard - effectively said she was too old but was out by a year.

He has zero interest in any player not on his very limited list.

After being down, and fighting back, Sam has taken the first set 6-4

Jodie's match doesn't seem to have livescores? Or isn't happening?

Maybe it is raining on Court 13?

Court 13 is the one next to the clubhouse - i.e. the top court. Strange that there's nothing showing on live scores. Can't get a stream for either match.

Good comeback from 2-4 for Sam after struggling a bit to hold serve at the beginning. I suspect Ozgen may be injured, as she's won very few points in the last seven games.
6-4 3-0*

Is there any indoor court there, or nearby? Wondering if they've gone indoors somewhere, which is why there is only one court playing and no livestream.

Yes, my assumption was that Jodie's match wasn't happening.

(Don't know about indoor courts or the weather)

Chiswick is a huge complex. 12 indoor courts, ten outdoor hard courts and two clay courts.
I assume it is raining there, but I'm 60 miles east where it has been raining for ages.

If they've gone inside, it would explain the lack of streaming, and possibly the lack of live scores.

Edit: - I forgot, they also have two outdoor carpet courts !
