January is a good time for strong up and coming players to make a move, given the Aus Open plus top grade events in Europe and Latin America and this one, most of those therefore with weaker fields than you would expect at other times. Emma has taken full advantage, but isn't signed up for the second Indian G2 next week.

Great start to the year.

From the info next weeks event is on clay so maybe didn't want the change of surface?

Very excited to see what Emma can do now in 2018. Wonder where she plans to play next?
