4 players making their 2017 Pro debut's:
Summer Yardley
Katherine Barnes
Zarah Mughal
Olivia Elliott

Of which, Barnes & Mughal are playing their first ever Pro matches.

This takes us to a total of 97 active GB women players this year to have played at least one pro match (presuming they all do).
We might make the century in the forthcoming GB series events.

Interesting that Allice Gillan is seeded Q1 - she was only 11th on the acceptance list.
6 Brits and 4 others ahead of her.]Guess we'll have to wait for the main draw .............

7 of the 10 ahead of Alice on the acceptance list are in the qualifying draw, Alice being the top seed on current rankings after her Sri Lanka exploits.

The 3 who aren't are the #1 from the acceptance list, Masini (ITA), presumably now a direct entrant into the main draw, #2 Laura Deigman, either a further direct entry or a MD WC and #4 Ella Taylor, who must be a MD WC if she is playing at all since #3 Emma Hurst is in the qualifying draw.

Bit sad that the qualifying draw is not full even during half term.
I thought Alice and Emma H were bankers for wildcards. Quite a lot of the girls in qualifying a fairly local - Holly Staff, Lauren McMinn, Hannah McColgan, Olivia Peet etc

Wildcards - Ella Taylor and a guess at the rest from Mollie Crouch, Gemma Heath, Eliz Maloney, Emma Radacanu, Anna Brogan

I cannot get down tomorrow, but I should be present Mon-Wed.

Wins for Lauren Bishop, Anna Popescu and Hannah McColgan have put out all three of the peskies in QR1

Which means there's only the two who had a BYE into QR2 left.

Pleased to see Tanysha get a win, although Ola P is a 'little fave' so the next round will be interesting.

Kat Barnes backed up her good British Tour wins. But now gets the French junior, seeded 3. Again, will be interesting.

15 year-old Holly Staff also got a win, well done to her.

Bit unfair to classify Kimberley as a 'peskie'! Welsh-through and through!

Sorry, Telstar, she's definitely a quasi-Brit (along with several others) so gets support when against a true Pesky.

BUT she chooses to play for Zimbabwe so that's pesky enough, I'm afraid. (And, I'm sorry, but her tennis really sets my teeth on edge too).

Ella Taylor and Gemma Heath are both here, so have wildcards. Lots of faces I don't recognise or haven't seen for a long time.
I'll do some digging on the other wildcards.

Yep, thought Gemma was a pretty good certainty for one.

Look forward to your report, paulisi !

(I'd be interested to hear about Tanysha if you're over on that court at all)

Have a great time.
