The Tennis Europe circuit always finishes with a Masters event in October. Not all the top players have agreed to take part, but Jack Pinnington Jones is one of the 8 taking part in the under 14 boys and is seeded 3 (ranked 6). Joel Pierleoni just missed out on an invite.  The under 14 boys is the only one of the 4 events where a Brit has reached the final - Liam Broady (2008) and Josh Sapwell (2010) going on to take the title. Among many players going on to make an impact in the men's game Sasha Zverev won it the following year to Josh.

Quarter-final matches are scheduled tomorrow, with the semis and finals over the weekend

Jack overcame the Russian in 3 to face another Russian - a sign of the times, as Russia increasingly dominates the boys as well as the girls in European competitions. Four of the 8 under 14 boys here are Russian.

Jack's semi-final is on the centre court not before 1.30pm BST and should be streamed live via www.facebook.com/CalabriaTennis/

Jack is into tomorrow's final with a straight sets win. His opponent will be top seed, TE1 and Les Petits As champion Luca Nardi, who has just won on the live stream (don't think they bothered with Jack's match). It will be a tough final for Jack as Luca is very good and was being given a lot of vocal support from home supporters today.

The final has just started on the live stream (link above) - though the caption currently says under 16 finals (that was the first match). Ominously Luca has won the first two games without dropping a point

Love the crowd and the noise !

Luca has a fairly important physical advantage, as well as playing very well.

But nice match....
