Yeah, would be a bit of a shame if he got all the way there and found out there'd been an admin mess-up

But the LTA are sending Indy Spink who is born in 2002 ???

So maybe that's just the English Athletics federation's own stipulation for choosing representatives ?

That is the reason I asked, as I have one of my club members selected for 400m and athletics has a very strict criteria both on age and times. In fact we would have got a second athlete selected, but her time was in a mixed race and deemed inelligible.

It may differ between sports (or maybe national federations for some sports set their own conditions) because on the event website, it says athletes are aged 14-18. I thought the entry/eligibility form at http://www.thecgf.com/cyg/Bahamas2017-Entry-Eligibility-Conditions-Form.pdf might have more details but as far as I can see, it doesn't say anything about age in the eligibility conditions.

Presumably only some 18-year-olds (i.e. those born in 1999) are eligible, though without knowing who you are thinking about, I don't know whether that makes a difference!

Just to be clear, the Youth Commonwealth Games site's tennis page says:

"Age Group: Men and Women 15 18 years of age (athletes born in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002)"

The tennis event started yesterday but, after a lot of looking (how hard should it be?), I think that most of our players got BYES so will play their first matches today.

However, Peter Alam won in two sets. As did Alexandra Hunter for Scotland.

Mind you, I did learn the flag of Norfolk Island Nice flag - shame I've no idea where Norfolk island is....
