Does that move the draw around?

Ah. It does, but doesn't impact any of our women. As you were...

Birmingham not having much luck. They'll be hoping Jo sticks with it though I can't see it being sensible to play both Birmingham and Eastbourne after the singles and doubles week she's having in Nottingham.

Maybe if she's still feeling fresh enough she'll play Birmingham but if makes much progress here then have the week off before Wimbledon.

Katie at 1-6 *5-5

Was broken for 4-5*, but broke back. Been 8 breaks of serve in the second set and Katie has held serve just once in the match so far.

...but lost the third 3-6.

Good performance. Colin Beecher seems to be coaching her.

Naomi next.

Naomi trailed 0*-3, but got it back to 3-3. Then all on serve until Naomi took the TB to 3.

She leads 7-6, 1-0*

Alize going into drama mode. Trying to get her own way by complaining to the umpire but is 0-3 down in the second.

Naomi leads 5-0 in the second.

Alize summoned the tournament referee to complain about the light; only just remembering to discard her sun-visor in time...

Naomi wins 7-6(3), 6-0.

Great result, and a really good performance. That gives Naomi 25 + 50 + 55+ points from the grass season so far, which I think is probably her career best, with hopefully a lot more to come.

Up to around 108 in live rankings.

Super win for Naomi. After a very slow start, she played reasonably well in the first set, especially strong in the tiebreak. 2nd set Alize wanted to be elsewhere, a woeful effort from her.

Weird because Naomi is capable of playing a lot better than that. She seemed terrified of attacking the net, even when dominating the rally.

First set Alize won 3 points from unreturned first serves and 6 from unreturned 2nd serves. At times Naomi looks so slow around the court.

Anyway, important win for Naomi.

You only have to scratch the surface with Alizé to get drama mode..... cry

Thrilled for Naomi smile

Alize not in the mood, got behind and threw her toys out of the pram again.
