Maybe an argument re a Masters. But no need whatever to push Wimbledon back another week. There is a week in between and its only recently they at last extended the R-G / Wimbledon gap to 3 weeks.

Both R-G and the US Open take place just a week after a Masters conclusion, in fact a week after a fortnight of two Masters events in each case.

I definitely think there an argument to up it to a Masters. In terms of the quality of the field, it must be the strongest of any event on tour outside the masters events, no?

About time we also got rid of that silly ATP grass thing after Wimbledon, is it Newport, the field is usually challenger standard.

I really enjoy Newport actually and the Hall of Fame association means it is going nowhere.

Not sure they're deserving of those wild cards, should've gone to the next players on the acceptance list imho.

Surely with a 3-week gap between the French and Wimbledon, it would be possible to have Halle and Queens on different weeks?

I really like the idea of Queen's becoming a Masters event! Re: Newport, I've always thought it to be a good tournament and to have even fewer ATP level events on grass would be a shame.

In theory yes, and Halle would possibly have to move, presumably to the week after the French Open where there are already currently events such as the Stuttgart ATP 250, as Federer etc would play the masters event. But the middle week is really the prime week, quite apart from Queen's and Halle having enjoyed equal status as ATP 250s before each being made ATP 500s.

I can see the argument based on the fields that Queen's already gets for a masters ( and a more general argument for having a grass masters event ) but I can't see it happening any time soon.

From a commercial front would Queens benefit? Prize money would increase to $4m plus. Field would increase to 48 or 56 to make it a masters. Would it draw commensurate increase in attention on TV and box office?
