It's good to see both Laura Sainsbury and Anna Brogan making comfortable progress here this week with their very welcome returns. Both into the SFs now, Laura barely having broken sweat so far, whilst Anna had two easy matches then a 10-8 MTB win over Grace Dixon (3). The two SFs are:

Laura Sainsbury (1) vs Kira Reuter (4)
Anna Brogan vs Anna Popescu (5)

SFs and Final matches all due today.

The Laura vs Anna final didn't happen as Kira beat Laura quite comfortably 6-4 6-2. Kira was the first better player that Laura faced, so suggests she still has a way to go to retain full fitness.

In contrast, Anna B went from strength to strength beating Anna P 6-2 6-0 in the SF and then Kira 6-4 7-5 in the final. So in her first tournament for a long time Anna Brogan has breezed through...

She has been out for at least a year - thought it was American college - but seems to have been injury confuse

Big shame for Anna getting injured at a time when she could have made great progress, she did pretty well in 2015 loosing to Potapova in the QF. Feels like yesterday! nice to see her back.

Is the injury definite?

I thought there was some mention from someone on this forum, who knew, that she was taking a break and had been a bit disenchanted with tennis.

However, and whatever, lovely to see her back.

And Laura S too who's been absent for several months.

And well done to young Kira, a very good run.

This event in Glasgow was one of the new 3-day ones - they seem to have worked well - a good idea from the LTA.

At the Grade 1 tournament at Tipton this week Freya is listed as top seed, but doesn't appear in the draw, so is a lete withdrawal. Laura Sainsbury is the only ranked player this week.

Looks as if Laura stepping up from last week which is to be expected. Good to see Nell in the final too. Has she also had injury issues ?

I see that they played each other in Wirral 15K qualifying in February. It was 6-2 6-0 to Laura on that occasion.
