Weeks 35 & 36 - US Open - Hard (Andy )

To summarise Andy's US Open campaign -  the general US Open thread in the men's section containing more details is at :

http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t62560856/weeks-35-36-us-open/?page=1&sort=oldestFirst

As WR 2, seed 2 he beat in turn :

R1: Lukas Rosol (CZE) WR 81 (CH 26 09/14) by 6-2 6-2 6-3

R2: Marcel Granollers (ESP) WR 45 (CH 19 07/12) by 6-4 6-1 6-4

R3: Paolo Lorenzo (ITA) WR 40 (CH 39 08/16) by 7-6(4) 5-7 6-2 6-3

R4: (22) Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) WR 24 (CH 8 08/14) by 6-1 6-2 6-2

Lost :

QF: (6) Kei Nishikori (JPN) WR 7 (CH 4 03/15) by 1-6 6-4 4-6 6-1 7-5

Andy's record since the start of the clay season is Won 44, Lost 5 and as of now he has most ranking points in that period plus a second Olympic title. If he wins the US Open title Djokovic will move just ahead in ranking points since the start of the clay season ( by 80 points )

The way Monfils is playing there is really no if about it sad to say.  Can't see Kei or Stan beating Novak on Ashe.
