Week 31 - USA F22 ($10,000) - Decatur, IL (Hard)

Liam should be the top seed in the main draw again, with Luke seeded too and Toby also in the main draw.

QR1: Ned Boone UNR lost to Austin Ansari (USA) UNR by 7-5 4-6 6-0

QR2: (q1) Scott Clayton WR 1167 v Konrad Zieba (USA) UNR

QR2: (q1) Scott Clayton WR 1167 beat Konrad Zieba (USA) UNR by 3 & 4

QR3: (q1) Scott Clayton WR 1167 v Mac Styslinger (USA) UNR (CH 1066 in 2013)

This could be very tough - Mac is at UVA (the place Dom Inglot went to) and was ranked higher than Scott is now before he went there - and yes, it really is "QR3" not "FQR" - there is still a 4th round of qualifying to go even if he gets through this one.

Just remembered these US Futures tend to release the main draw on Sunday, even if qualifying is still going on:

L32: (1) Liam Broady WR 376 (= CH) v Jason Tahir (USA) WR 1320 (CH 796 in 2013 - now at college, Duke)
L32: (5) Luke Bambridge WR 567 v Qualifier
L32: Toby Martin WR 749 v Jeff Dadamo (USA) WR 624 (CH 480 in 2012)

Dadamo was the player who pushed Luke to 8-6 in the 3rd set tiebreak in last week's QFs.

Qualifiers placed:

L32: (5) Luke Bambridge WR 564 v (Q) Quinton Vega (USA) WR 1432 (= CH)

They also have Mr Gosea/Ghasya is with a (SE) and showing as British on the drawsheet but he is still down as Libyan elsewhere on the ATP and ITF sites, with all three sources differing on how his names should be spelt.

I wonder if he might switch at some stage though - in this BBC Wales article from June www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/wales/27944307, it says:

"While Gosea is determined to carve out a tennis career, he has yet to decide which country he would represent if he made it to the professional ranks.
Gosea's Libyan father met his Welsh mother while studying in Britain and the youngster takes pride in his heritage.
"That's a decision to make coming up for me (whether to represent Britain or Libya). I think it just depends on who can support me the best and the situation of the tennis programmes in each country," Gosea said.
"When I was younger and involved with British tennis I'd always go to the camps at Roehampton and the National Tennis Centre, but now obviously being in college I've lost contact with that a little bit.
"But going back this summer hopefully I'll get back in contact with them and try and help me out with tournaments."
