Fratangelo was clearly the best player in the field - Luke did well to push him so close in the semis, I though.

Yes, I agree.

Scott and Toby are now a break up in the doubles final, 3-1*, v Luke and Liam

Oops, another irony fail ...

Perhaps, Steven, given the serious turn of events in Libya this weekend, whether you applaud or decry its "government's" efforts to restore stability, your attempt at levity was somewhat misguided...?

It would have been except that it wasn't an attempt at humour, as such, and I had no idea what was going on in Libya this week until I caught the end of a report on the news today.

They've now won 15 matches in a row together, 21 out of 23 on this US trip as a whole.

It's their 4th title in a row, 5th together this year, 6th each in total this year and the 10th Futures doubles title in Luke's career, Liam's 12th.

Marcus and Lewis need to be getting back to futures doubles quick to protect their records.

Joking, Gary ! :)

Well done on the doubles (they must not be beloved of the US players - coming over and taking most of the limited points on offer). And well done to Mr Bambridge in the singles: that was a good match against a strong opponent and caps off what feels like quite a few decent matches (including wins) against decent opponents. On the Libya front, one can only hope that Mr Gosea's family, if he still has any there, are safe. It is so sad to see where things are currently: I remember a friend who was involved with the government there after the revolution talking about the high hopes for the future and strong ideals with which people were trying to set up something new. May they some day come to pass!

A friend who taught Liam at one point has drawn my attention to this article on the finals, which also sheds a bit of light on why Liam didn't enter the doubles this week.

Intentions appreciated, David, but I for one really can't be arsed to start answering intrusive questions about my banking habits to get past the first page! furious

I answered "No" to the question and the article appeared. Thanks for the link, a good read.

The only question I saw was whether or not I owned a Tablet or intended to own one. I too said "No" and got the article.
