Apologies, didnt see this thread talking about the new Challengers, but have posted elsewhere on it instead. Just adding in my comments, Andy is clearly going to struggle for Glasgow if not Loughborough, but as folks point out Dan will be back and presumably ready to play. Not sure who else the $100k events are aimed at in terms of GB players, Cam and Liam clearly might play, Jay also depending on the entry level. Others arent really at consistent Challenger level? Presumably this will get a posse of players not at home on clay, US and Aussies perhaps, some of the French and germans who like a faster court.

Not sure I support it versus putting on half a dozen more Futures events and not sure where the in form womens side get a look in on this type of thing?

Scotstoun is not a big venue and would struggle with crowds there is normally a seated area which I think is court 1 correct me if I am wrong. There is a raised platform viewing down on the courts which normally players sit and watch other players I think if Andy was there it would be a nightmare controlling crowds. I think as you say it would attract the top British players excluding Edmund and Norrie. The clash with clay is intriguing  would be interesting to see who enters I would have thought mainly players ranked 150 and below

Tbh I think these events are going to attract very weird entry lists. As said, they are both in the middle of the clay season and the only hard court challengers in Europe during that period. Loughborough is the same week as French Open qualifying, I think we are going to see players outside of 250 seeded for that event.

In the Scotstoun court numbering system, the normal temporary stand is built beside Court 6 ( on top of what would no doubt normally be court 5 ) with courts 7 and 8 beyond. Courts 1 to 4 are on the other side of the hall, on the other side of that raised platform walkway ( from which all courts can be viewed, good for coaches, other players, friends and really anyone else with the futures attendances but not set up for big crowds going awandering ).

But that's just numbers for the normal 8 courts in the hall with Court 6 just becoming the de facto main court because it's beside the stand and thus hosts the main matches.

Of course it could be quite different for this event. Indeed if Andy is playing, it surely will be in some ways.
