Andy and Djoko both climb two places as the AO fortnight begins: Ferrer and Baghdatis (as  expected) drop below them as they defend their good 2006 performances.

As it's a Grand Slam week, and there are 1,000 points on offer, Andy could in theory be overtaken by anyone down to Florent Serra, ranked 73, if he went out in the first round.

Similarly, he could climb as high as WR4 should he win the tournament, and all other results go his way (Blake would need to lose in R1 or R2).

I've shown a table which covers most results up to Andy making the final (with a potential rise to WR 8) and down to Robin Soderling overtaking by making the semi -final.

I'm sure once R1 is over, Bethan will let us know what some of the possibilities are in at least week 1.

Shouldn't everybody get 5 points for a slam first round?

Hey guys. I've just got back from being away for the weekend so my table is not done yet, I'll do it and post a possibilities account as soon as possible but it may not be for a while yet, probably tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.

In the mean time, just enjoy the tennis with no animosity to anybody (except players you dislike and Lapentti and Martin of course!)

I have already made the wax models of Ferrer and Gasquet as well as Lapentti and Martin

(not because I dislike them, but because they can overtake Andy if they do better than him!)

Am I right in thinking that the 18th and 19th results aren't a factor since grand slam tournament results have to be counted in rankings?

Yes - except for players who weren't eligible for direct entry. So no-one on Andy's table are affected by them, I think Rob just puts them in for fun!

- and for players defending a tournament in week 2, like Soderling, Almagro and Lee.

OK: Tonight's action is:

Djokovic  vs Massu; Ferrer vs Pless; Gasquet vs Volandri; Stepanek vs Llodra; Baghdatis vs Schuettler.

I'd say Volandri and Pless gave us the biggest chances for upsets - Pless was on form at the end of last year, while Ferrer will still be over- confident after winning last week.....

Coven: get sticking those pins in!

I'd just like to jump in to remind you guys that this is by far the best part of this forum. The amount of work that goes in is phonemenal. As somebody who looks madly at draws and gets a little bit too much into ranking points, it's an absolute must-read. Just scrolling down I know who is playing, why I hate them and how much of a threat they are in fifteen different scenarios. It's brilliant. And I can't be the only one who thinks that.

So keep up the good work guys. It's well appreciated.

Why thank- you!

The morning update:

Only Ljubi and Calleri did us a favour and lost.

Robredo, Stepanek, Hrbaty & Ferrero advance - although only JCF will stay advanced unless Ljuby, Hewitt and Soderling lose.

Just the Djokovic - Massu match left to play today.

Why has Bagda already 35 pts added? He's still playing... b.t.w. typo: the text says 15 pts, but 1880-700+35 = 1215 - 35 have already been added.

For Roddick, there is also a typo, it says 55 pts, but correctly only 35 were added.
