Wroclaw challenger (PL) 2007

Uhmm, hello... I have just seen the pre-official list to the challenger in my city. Ya know I'm the correspondent, and such. I am surprised, it is fulfilled with Brits, of course Boggo including! Are you planning to colonize my country, eh? Revenge for cheap working power on the islands?

Hi Nathii how's it going ?

Very much looking forward to Wroclaw, great fan-friendly site and also your really great match reports to read Which week is it again ?

Do you know which Brits will be playing ? I'm amazed that Boggo entered, he said he wasn't going to play Wroclaw or Belgrade this year but maybe he's changed his mind.

Haha, we've decided to stage a mini invasion of our own given how the Poles have started invading some parts of London So many of them on the Piccadily tube line.

Oh btw, if you haven't heard. I'm sorry to have to break the news to you that Delgado has got a girlfriend. However he said he was very much looking forward to visiting Wroclaw and seeing the lovely Nathiilia again though

I know what you mean, it's amazing - it's ages since I managed to walk the 400m to our local station without hearing somebody speaking Polish on the way, and managing a 20-minute train ride without hearing any Polish being spoken is completely impossible.

It's probably more a case of you should be invading us, Nathii, in revenge for us inadvertently stealing half of your skilled workmen/women!

Haha... you wouldn't believe, but my uncle is working in London too! He's the master of stonework, last year he left without knowledge of English language but of course it's not a problem to find a job at Polish company Now he understand most of the things, can communicate himself, is legally employed with taxes and such, doesn't live in a squat anymore and also will be buying a car soon (of course he sends money for his family in PL). How not to love England?

As for me, I was thinking of visiting UK this summer on sightseeing and language practising purposes. Oh, maybe I'll be reporting for national media hmm, from Wimbledon? But I wouldn't want the press pass, after adventure in Stockholm I figured players' passes are more handy. Blah, nevermind! Why do I always off-top so much?

I have the unofficial list in my hand and perhaps I shouldn't really share it before Tuesday (it still may change) - as for now the top signed British players are: Boggo (we will also have that American Boggo!), Joshua Goodall, Richard Bloomfield and Jonny Marray.

I know, Jamie is with Anne K. Good luck to them! Nah, there are so many people in love with me, it's not a problem for me to choose (or rather... it IS a problem ). Best greetings!

Interesting story about your uncle. It's almost as if the UK is getting the 'kand of opportunity' reputation that the US has always had.

I've just realised that means Boggo isn't going to try to defend his title in Bergamo, as well as not trying to defend in Wrexham. Maybe he thinks "well, if I win those, I just stand still in the rankings, so I'd better go for events with a bit more prize money and more points for winning them".

Sounds brave (and confident, if he really thinks he's going to win Heilbronn and Wroclaw!), but with so many points to defend, he might have been better off going back to places where he knows he can play well.

Boggo's plan could badly backfire, but the risk is worth taking. If he wants to be a top 50 player, he'll need to do well at the bigger tournaments. I approve of this audacious move.

I think Boggo will also realise that if he loses his points from Bergamo and Wrexham he may struggle to get accepted for the ' super Challengers' and he can always go back to playing 25K's over the next few months when he hasnt much to defend, might as well enter the Wroclaw's et al, while he still has the chance.

Hi NAthi, what is the cut off likely to be, which of the Brits will make MD, do you know?

Hi, Sluiter is not playing. The Brits I mentioned are all about to make the MD. As I said that list was not final yet, but I don't think something may change, mind it's a DC week and with 5 (?) other challengers. The official list will come today ;) I am rather busy these days (blame my uni). Best greetings.

Don't worry, it did seem a bit hopeful to expect all the Brits to be DAs ... where did all the other players come from at the last moment though?

Maybe they were all in the pub down under and bought Jonny a few drinks to drown his sorrows and make him talk about Wroclaw. Then when they heard what the cut was, they all rushed to sign-in en masse
