Some news to warm the heart of Arka ! Nadal goes out to Malisse
Once Nalbandian had lost, I thought that Nadal was a cert for the title. However, Malisse beat him 6-4, 7-6[4]. Once again, he was outhit by an attacking baseliner with a booming forehand. So Nadal's drought continues, no finals since Wimbledon, quite an amazing stat given his form in the first 6 months of 2006.
He seems to have started struggling against the out and out power players - Berdych, Blake, Youzhny, Johansson, Malisse etc.
Can't really see past Malisse for the title now, he's beaten Koubek 4/4 times.

I'm not convinced, Koubek has beaten players he should have lost to all week whereas Malisse has just beaten Nadal (who nearly went out two rounds ago). I think either could take it. (hoping for Koubek as he's who I put my AMs on )

I thought he'd do so as he's a heavier hitter than Koubek. I watched Koubek in Bratislava and wasn't particularly impressed. He's fast around the court but can be very erratic off the ground.
