Just can't believe this.
This will be terrible as he will have a zero pointer in his total.

I am really disapointed as I know that he rested his knee at the end of last season and was hoping he would be fresh and ready to go this year.  Hopefully this will give him a chance to rest up and heal anything else bothering him and give him a chance to play in Feb well rested.  I would have hated for him to go only for him to do more damage or play while not fully fit only to exit in the first round.

I still think he will have a good year.  The Aussie Open has never been too kind to him anyway.

Hopefully it will make the difference between Boggo making the main draw & only the qualies....

He needs a good few more drop outs first doesnt he?

How close is he to getting a DA, and does anyone know what the cut off is and further drop outs will go to LL's.

Shocking news about Tim, btw,  but it's true that Aussie Open isnt a good event for him, so not a big problem, so long as it doesnt keep him out too long.

Unfortunately, with the steveg forums down, there's no (semi-) official news.

Alex was 15th ALT, and we've had (I think) 3 withdrawals so far: Gimelstob, Coria and Henman.

Then there's Philippoussis, who's knee's gone again, Tipsarevic, who withdrew injured from Adelaide, Kiefer, Hrbaty, Verkerk who are just doubts.  Srichaphan was a doubt, but made it through R1 of Chennai with few problems....

boggo is still a long way out, he would probably need abput 20 withdrwals, and there havnt been that many yet.

as for tim, its a shame but this is probably the best slam for him to miss, lets hope he can be fit for the feb atp's

Can't believe Tiger is out

When will this guy get a break from his recent injury woes? Once his back stopped playing up his knee has.

Probably out the top 50 again after AO.

Possibly not - remember he's only defending 5 points

Even so he's only 10 places or so above it and theres a few new faces 75-50 isn't there?

Yep, but also a lot of points being defended above him. At a guess 10-15 will overtake and 10- 15 will drop below I can't see there being 50 players with more than 900 points.
