This is near now.

Wonder who the wild cards will be ....

I guess that they'll give one to Slabba since he reached the quarters.
Kennaugh and Rushby maybe.
Most juniors will be out of Britain. Neil Pauffley is an option since he enjoyed great results in Sweden.
If they are giving WCs to juniors randomly, I'd like to see Dan Smethurst given a chance.

O.M.G @ that entry list

Don't think we'll see much British interest past rd2 here, unless Slabba or Rushby play the match of their life. Crugnola is the seed to be drawn near, hopefully Slabba gets him.

Slabba, Rushby and Kennaugh should get wcs. Maybe Thornley for the last one ?

Wouldn't give it to Thornley as he already has had one.
I think that the LTA is against the giving of WCs to back to back events. That's their policy with Dan. I've noticed that he always has to qualify for one, which I think is good for his career.

The only day I could possibly go is Friday, I think, by which time I don't expect there to be any British interest left

But who else will get one ? Evans, Willis, Milton, Pauffley, Cox, Dyce, Rice are all entered for junior tournaments elsewhere !

I think Thornley should get one as from what I've heard, he was the most impressive of the juniors last week and players should surely be rewarded for putting in good performances.

Pauffley will be in Britain unless he decides to go and play qualies somewhere. He isn't entered for any tournament.

But I agree with you now, Thornley has a chance since most young players are out.

Flan the mans in good form. Made the final in this weeks Bolton British tour event.

Miotto lost in r1 to some British nobody, which is encouraging! (LOL)

Flan the man is desperate for ATP points, first and foremost. He has 29 at the moment, 1 will come off next week (Barnstaple R2 last year) then 22 more will come off in late February when the points for the last ever GB Satellite series come off.

That will leave him outside the top 1000 with just 6 points (all from a Futures semi last October), the same number as Amadeus!

Btw, Alan Mackin will be defending more Satellite points than his AO exploits have earned him so far as well.

I glad Satellites have gone - the points someone got if they did really well always seemed to end up being an impossible wall to climb a year later.

Childs vs Thornley will be interesting.

No WC for THornley then.

Must be Slabba and Rushby, Flanagan and one other I guess.

Can't see many Brits qualifying. Maybe Brewer and Bamford. Kennaugh has an outside chance.

Childs and Thornley weould have been interresting. But I misread the draw and they don't face each other!

If they both get to QR3 they will! Yeah right!
