Her semi-final opponent is ranked a lot higher at 299, she'll be by far and away the highest ranked opponent Laura will have played in this tourney. It will have been a great win if she's pulled it off !
What has Laura's results been like this year Arka ? A ranking of 628 for a 14 year old is pretty impressive is it not, although not quite up there with the standard of Tara Moore. Is Laura the no 2 14 and under girl behind Tara ?
Laura's results certainly aren't world class when you compare them to other 14 year old's results, but they aren't that bad either. Her best result till now has been the semis of a G5 and this performance.
She got a WC into a 10K last month but lost 0 and 2 to an 18 year old ranked 770ish.
I know very little about the girlies, but I think Heather Watson's results are more impressive than Laura's at this moment.
