For the record, here's Alex and his competitors' rankings up to the end of the year. There was a Challenger in Doha in week 52, from which a number of players see points dropping off.
Tim's closest competitor, Julien Benneteau was the losing finalist here, so he moves 20 points further away from overtaking Tim in week 1.

Well he's cretainly not in good form. He went out in the first round of his last four tournaments of the year, including the USO. He's not played since 18th September.
Coria is far from retirement actually. He just announced after his defeat in Szczecin that his season is over. He also parted with his coach. He will play again next year.
As of the 4th of this month, Al was still only 9th on the list of alts. I know that nearly all the other players on the alt list are also on the alts list for Doha and Adelaide, but I think things are going to be very tight re direct entry. Will he still go to Chennai if he has to qualify? he might prefer trying to qualify in Doha or Adelaide....
its still a bit early yet, i am sure there will be withdrals much closer to the event. I dont know which evenht he will go to, i guess he will look to see which one he is most likly toget in and make plans, chennai seems most likly tho.
The AO list is out, i guess alex will be 23rd alt there.
