Danielle had an excellent rd1 win over the top seed Ashley Weinhold [Katie's US Open conqueror]: 6-0, 1-6, 7-5
Unfortunately she then lost 6-2, 6-1 to an American girl ranked 41 places lower at 551, in rd2 [final qualifying round].
It seems that Danielle's one of these players who's very on-off. When she's on form she can beat opponents several hundred places higher and take sets off the likes of Tamarine Tanasugarn but when she's off she can lose to anyone inside the top 1000 !
