RE: The Ren Sisters Thread.

Report on Jessia's match. They tried their best to make it sound like it was a close affair that could have gone either way...

Jennifer will make her ITF debut in Sutton.

Click on "Featured tournaments", then on "Sutton International Junior Tournament" and then on "Who's playing".

A British tourney site with a dynamic entry list.

Jennifer is into the entry lists for the $10,000 event in Sunderland but is something like 108 on the alternates.  If all the players accept their first choices, she will miss the qualifiers by about over 10 places, so the only prospect of her playing there will be a Wild Card.

Still great to see her interested in competing at this level.

Ah, yes. Well spotted.
There'll be loads of withdrawals as the deadline is still to arrive.

Sian Bayliss is in there, too.

Just guessing or did you ask her ?

She told me that she and Jenny would start playing ITFs in the autumn. It's on of their aims for 2007.

Cool! Jennifer is doing Sutton and most probably Notts.

Jessica will have to play outside Britain as there are no Junior tournaments in 2007 after she turns 13.

That's great news. Maybe she will qualify with the right draw?

Jennifer will make her 18s debut before Sutton. The LTA is sending a MASSIVE group to a G5 in Malta that begins on 25th March.

Amandine Hesse will be the firm favourite for the title, I believe.

Why isn't Laura Robson playing ITFs?

Will be very interesting to see how Jennifer will do, qualifying will be tough and could be beyond her at the moment given her British tour results. She will have to get past players ranked 900-1200 to make the main draw and she's been outpowered by players in that ranking range in the past.

Maybe Laura Robson just wants to focus on training at the moment and play the occasional prestigious tournament in her age group ? Still only 12, there's no hurry to rush into the ITFs.

Na, Laura is already 13. I guess that the quality of tennis at the highest levels of 14s girls tennis and at the weaker G5s is pretty same.

Maybe she wil play in North and South America like Tara?

That would make sense given that she's also based at IMG

Laura is not at IMG. She trains independently under Nick Saviano in Ft. Lauderdale when she is in the US.

Maybe she is just waiting for the right tournaments? She can play just ten times this year, so selecting the proper tournaments is very important.
