Is yesyesbadboy Belarussian
Or has he been after the girls there

Better draw for Deborah than last week Shlomo is 18, hasn't done anything particularly of note this year; made a 10K quarter-final and won a couple of matches in weak 25Ks in Asia recently. However, she's still ranked around 400 places higher than Deborah and given that Deborah lost 2 and 2 to someone ranked in the 790s last week, it's likely to be a Shlomo straight sets win.

The top seed [ranked 297] beat Melissa 7-6[4], 6-0 Great effort in the first set though, she was outranked by around 450 places

Great news from Tel Aviv.....

Rd1: D Armstrong [GB] bt K Shlomo [Isr] 6-3, 5-7, 6-3

Great result against a player ranked 432 places higher

the bad news is that Deborah faces Mel's conqueror in rd2....

Rd2:

D Evtimova [Bul][1] [wr: 297] v D Armstrong [GB] [wr: 1170]

Deborah lost 6:3 6:2 to Evtimova

No surprise there-it was a hell of an ask. However, the Q and R1 win should take her up to 1040 or so in the rankings.

its nuggety wins like that that seem to maintain my morbid interest in lower ranked British tennis players!
