Countries in the top 100

Don't know if anyone's interested, but here is a breakdown of the countries with players in the top 100 and how many players they have there. If anyone finds this interesting, I can maintain this as a kind of league table updated weekly....

1.nc France                     13
2.nc Spain                       11
3.nc Argentina                  9
4.+1 USA                         8
5.-1 Germany                    8
6.nc Russia                       7
7.nc Czech Republic           6
8.+1 Italy                         5
9.-1 Belgium                     4
10.nc Croatia                    3
11.nc Sweden                   3
12.nc Switzerland              2
13.nc Chile                        2
14.nc Serbia                      2
15.nc Great Britain              2
16.nc Austria                     2
17.nc Thailand                   2
18.nc Cyprus                     1
19.nc Finland                     1
20.nc Australia                   1
21.nc Slovakia                    1
22.nc Korea                       1
23.nc Belarus                     1
24.nc Peru                        1
25.nc Ecuador                    1
26.+1 Denmark                   1
27.+1 Canada                    1

Where countries are tied, rankings are decided by who has the highest ranked player. A most satisfactory result for GB, coming in at 15th place. Hopefully, Boggo can do the biz and put us in the top 10 soon!

  • Amer Delic rises 19 places to a career high ranking of 96 to give USA a total of 8, pushing them above Germany to No. 4 in the table

  • Evgueni Korolev inches into the top 100 without playing, giving Russia 7 players, however they stay in 6th.

  • Dick Norman drops 34 places to 124, causing Belgium to drop below Italy to No. 9

  • Raemon Sluiter drops 20 places to 104, causing Netherlands to drop off the table form No. 26, promoting Denmark and Canada one place each.

  • GB remain unchanged at No. 15

Just a thought - if someone had said a few years ago, "GB will have more players in the top 100 than Australia in 2006," everybody would have thought they were being madly over-optimistic!

Thanks for that John, it's really interesting.

I'd have thought Russia had more than 6 up there, and Belgium's doing much better than I would've guessed!
