This event is actually played on Har-Tru!

Got this info from the tennis club's site: http://www.naplesbathandtennis.com/ No tournament site, I believe.

Jamie will most probably have to qualify. Since this is in Florida, Grame Dyce could feel the temptation of asking for a qualies wild card. I think that IMG big guns like Kei Nishikori and Gastao Elias could attempt the qualies.

Jamie Baker has scraped into the main draw here.

That's great news The bad news is that this tournament is on green clay

Really strong entry list for a 50K+H, hopefully Jamie avoids the top 8 in rd1.

Dyce didn't enter the qualies, however Gaston Elias did. I'm sure Greenleaf will be keenly following his progress

I will. But it's pretty unlikely that he will qualify. Nishikori can.

I don't think that Baker has ever played on Har-Tru in his life.

R1: Jamie Baker WR 316 v (WC) Gabriel Montenegro (ARG) UNR

A great draw for Jamie, even if it is an Argentinian on clay! Montenegro is 29 and reached a career high of 1353 five years ago. (3) Kevin Kim (USA) WR 107 is likely to be lying in wait in R2 though.

With respect, if it was (a Really strong entry list for a 50K+H,) Jamie wouldnt be a DA, would he?

No, they had a little spat after their last match together and split up

Quite correct Bladetiger - In fact if Jamie had come back to Shrewsbury which is only a $25k+H he would not have made the main draw, Alan Mackin at 285 only just squeezed due to a last minute withdrawal.

According to the tournament site (no confirmation yet from Mike Raphael )

Jamie won! 6-1/6-1 - a double breadstick!

Super result, hopefully that injects some confidence into Baker as he faces a much tougher rd2 match.

Good result ! The only thing that surprises me is that he lost two games.
