So the 1st page is out, how strong are the atp's right after the Ao, there is a zagrab one, and there are no challengers that week for some reason (looks like the big andrieux one has beend dropped) although qualies may clash with wrexham.
Bergamo has been pushed up to a 100k. Hopefuly alex can stay fit and find him form from last feb, if so he should be able to play 3 big challengers back to back (bergamo, belgrade, bescanon - hopefully sluiter wont be there). Theres a big challenger in germany same week as wrexham, which will hopfully make the wrexham draw weaker.

Even though Britain doesn't get a new event in this period, the changes to the calendar certainly helps us.
The Heilbronn event was already there, the one is Durban is new.
And I don't think that the field in Bergamo will be much stronger than last year. He will have a good chance of defending 60 with a higher number of points on offer.

lol i dont think it could be, having two top 60 players last year

There is another bit of good news. The first Futures of the year will be played in week 2 instead of week 1 like last time.
That means that quite a few of our players could go for the two Futures in India at the end of 2006 and ATP Madras qualies, without missing out on a British Futures.
looks like thewhole calendar for the year is out! 22 futures, all of which are 15k/. gap in may and june when grass court atp and challengers are on i presume.
Please read the note at the top, which mentions that 25K+Hs will be replaced by 35K+Hs in 2008. Good move, as more money is always nice.
There are no Challengers in week 5. So we can have a few British players in Zagreb qualies. There are two 15K+Hs that week, in France and in Germany, and both are on indoors! The Winner gets 24 points and the runner up gets 16, so the players may head for either of those.
the difference with surbs and the other uk challenegrs is they are 25k +h, whereas surbs is a 50k, they both give the same points, surbs gives more money to the players but they have to pay for their own hosipailty etc.

Which is fine for those who win a few rounds but for those that dont {

I guess the assumption is that people are already in town for Queens/Wimbledon, and so won't be that interested in getting a hotel room for the Surbiton week?
