Gabashvili has been spured on by these comments made by USM and is in some form to keep him in the shed

Gaba won the first set & took the second to a tie- break, but ended up losing to Nieminen 6-2 in the third

So Nieminen  adds 50 points to his score, and Andy will now need to reach the semis to overtake him

Maybe USM was thinking of the Finn rather than the Swede when he bet his shed.....?

Andy's loss this evening means that he does not gain anymore places.

Only Safin and Hrbaty can overtake him this week and they must both win the tournament to do so. So Andy has a worst case ranking this week of 18, still one up on last week. (Best case 17.)

Very sharp pins into Safin and Hrbaty to keep Andy at 17!

The table's updated

Microsoft have just "upgraded" me to IE7, and I can't see the bold text within the table on the first post. I'm assuming it's an IE7 issue, and not something that's affecting those of you with IE6 and/or firefox?

I have IE6 and can see the bold fine, not sure if that helps you or not!

that does help - it means that it's still worth putting it into bold for the IE6 & Firefox users among you, even if I can't benefit myself. I assume either the messageboard people or microsoft will fix it eventually.

Niemenen takes first set against Robredo.

I hope Tommy can fight back and win, as Niemenen is getting away from Andy

At least, Haas has put Safin out of the running.

Major pins into Hrbaty now - in fact, I think it is about time to resort to a chisel!

The first post is updated.  Hrbaty & Haas  advance. Safin, Nieminen & Berdych are knocked out.

Oooo- errrrrrrr.......Haas retired, sick. So Hrbaty  moves up another place to sit just 92 points behind Andy.  If he beats Davydenko in the final (No predictions, please Shedman!) then he'll overtake .  (First post updated)
