This is a new thing, mostly the girls tend to play in Europe and occasionally the States or the Far East. None of them have been to Australia before apart from Jane.
It's great to hear Georgie aiming high, if she can make the top 300 that would be an amazing achievement. She's made such massive strides since July.
The LTA must be providing a lot of funding for this trip as a lot of those players wouldn't be able to afford a month in Australia otherwise.
As Lucie Ahl says, it'll be hugely beneficial for them all, will improve their fitness levels and get them used to grinding out tough matches in the heat. I'm sure the players are also welcoming the opportunity to top up their tans and maybe catch a bit of the cricket
I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of them find it a bit tough to get used to, going from fast indoor surfaces to bouncy Aussie hard courts which are pretty slow.
