Although being seeded doesn't mean much if you draw Nastya P in the 1st round.

She's the number 1 junior who won 2 slams this year and reached the final of Roland Garros. She's also only just turned 15 so expect to see her inside the top 100 by the end of next year and inside the top 20 by the time she's 18.

So far she's not played much women's tennis but already has a 10K title and got a few games off Nicole in Moscow.

Lost in the quarters of Podolsk 25K this week, having beaten Kristina Antoniychuk who's another of the top juniors.

Thanks for the information kundalini, I was confused by the nickname

Hopefully she's in the opposite half of the draw to both Brits but I reckon that Amanda could beat her indoors. Jade Curtis lost 2 and 2 to her in the USO but has given her close matches in training.

For some strange reason the main draw isn't out yet

Keothavong is the second seed and takes on world No.339 Ekaterina Dzehalevich of Belarus in round one.

Seventh-seeded Keen – who could meet Keothavong in the last eight – faces the Ukraine’s world No.629 Oksana Teplyakova in her first match.

Tricky draw for Anne given her current form. 20 year old Dzehalevich, only has a career best of 222 [reached in 2005] but she's on form, having reached a 25K final in Russia indoors last week. She also beat Anne 6-3, 6-2 in rd1 of WTA Tashkent at the beginning of October. However, Amanda Keen beat her 3 and 2 a few weeks ago.

Nice draw for Amanda though, on current form I'd rate her as the favourite in a match against Keothavong in the quarters

Unfortunately Dzehalevich proved too tough for Anne again, winning 6-3, 6-4

Amanda was very convincing though, cruising through to rd2 with a 6-2, 6-1 win

Amanda plays Andrea Popovic in rd2. Popovic is ranked 395, she's done well in 10Ks this year, winning one on clay and reaching several semis and quarters. Shouldn't prove too much of a problem for Amanda though, especially indoors.

In her matches v Brits this year, Popovic has a good record, she beat Georgie Stoop 6-0, 7-6 in May and Jade Curtis 6-1, 6-1. She beat Sarah Coles 7-6, 7-5 in Hull but lost to her in 3 sets in Tipton. Mel South also beat her in 3 sets.

Amanda beat Popovic 61 62!

QF opponent is Russian Anna Lapushcenko, ranked 326.

She should make the semis here!

That's a superb win for Amanda

She has a great chance of making the semis now but Lapshchenkova will still be very tough. She beat Anne's conqueror Dzehalevich 7-5, 7-5 in rd2. The highlights of her 2006 are reaching four 10K finals [2 indoors - one in Minsk and 2 on clay] and a 25K semi on clay.

Amanda has been performing very consistently since her comeback. Its unusual for British players to be consistent for some reason, but she will be pushing top 200 pretty soon if she keeps this form up!

I suppose now's she married, she does not have feel the pressure of winning and just go out there and play!
