I wonder where Ed disappeared to, for the previous couple of futures in Australia ?

Great couple of wins for him, hope he can qualify. 1537 does mean that the guy has just one ranking point so it's a good chance for Ed.

This tournament's on grass.
And grass is always good for Brits.  Maybe this'll Eaton and Kennaugh's tourny (and Ed's already going well).

[It's actually F12, not F13.]

Sadly Aussies are really good on grass too...

Hewitt, Philippoussis, Draper, Woodforde, Woodbridge, etc...

I have altered the title to F12.

(I didn't realise I would have to edit every post up to now - but at least it seems to be permanently altered from here on!)

Main draw:

C Eaton [GB] v H Lewis [Aus][q] [wr:1537]

E Corrie [GB][q] v M Shanahan [Aus][q] [unranked]

A Kennaugh [GB] v M Matusevic [Aus][wr:711]

Myles Blake isn't competing this week.

All the Brits have winnable rd1 matches. Great chance for Ed Corrie to get his first point. Matosevic will be tricky for Kennaugh, he beat Eaton 6-2, 6-2 a couple of weeks ago and made the semis of Aus F11.

Unfortunately Chris could face the no 1 seed in rd2 and Andy could face the no 2 seed in rd2.

Just one result so far:

Andy's lean streak continues

M Matosevic [Aus] bt A Kennaugh [GB] 6-4, 6-3

Great news:

Rd1:

C Eaton [GB] bt A Kratzmann [Aus][q] 3-6, 7-6[10]. 6-4

E Corrie [GB][q] bt M Shanahan [Aus][q] 6-4, 6-1

What a fightback from Chris, he must have saved multiple match points in set 2. He now plays top seed Alun Jones in rd2 Ed benefits from his kind draw to earn his first ranking points !!! Now faces 3rd seed Adam Feeney in rd2

Unfortunately both were outclassed in rd2:

A Jones [Aus][1] [wr:243] bt C Eaton [GB] 6-1, 6-2

A Feeney [Aus][3][wr:377] bt E Corrie [GB] 6-1, 6-2

Eaton and Kennaugh also lost 6-1, 6-2 in the doubles quarters to top seeds Carsten Ball and Adam Feeney

Not surprising-totally outranked.

Big cheer for Ed, getting his world ranking. He deserves it!
