A little bit of a contrast from Qualifying in Glasgow...


Q1: Lucy WARBURTON (GBR) (4) defeated Folashade OGUNSHOLA (NGR, UR) 60 60


Q2: Lucy WARBURTON (GBR) (4) defeated Beauty OGHENEKEVWE (NGR, UR) 61 60


I think Lucy has harder qualifying battles..... can't help but think this would be better for the locals were it a 10K event.

R1 Lucy WARBURTON (GBR) defeated Blessing ANUNA (NGR, 1281) 62 60

Lucy's first 25K main draw victory. OK, not the hardest ever, but you still have to win them!

Next up: R2 vs Surina DE BEER (RSA, 579). A much tougher proposition!

De Beer is a 28 year old South African veteran who knocked out the 7th seed in rd1. Much of her year has been curtailed due to injury though she has played a few Brits, beating Yasmin Clarke and Lindsay Cox
