yeh thats weird, i was thinkin  about the wimbledon match 2 years ago when , or actually less than 2 years when PIM PIM as hes nicknamed beat greg RSEDSKI and i see he was no.9 career high, what happend injury i have read but he is 640 IN THE WORLD RITE NOW, tennis tour is so feeble, u see this happening, like that russian/ukranian/serbian/australian girl what was her name ? when she dropped down rankings i mena he is 640 and hes only 24/25 and he was 9th

He's been back for a bit, from what I see.. But before this tournament he's only played like 5 tournaments this year. With 2 of those being futures in Sweden where he won 1 of them and got to the Semis in the other where he had to withdraw, not sure what for though.

It was....I got a ball signed by her three years ago at Indian Wells....

Another player who just disapeared without a trace was the Romanian girl who bumped Venus Williams at the 1997 US Open semi final.  I remember thinking that this could be a good rivalry and then she just disapeared.  I can't even remember her name.  I think it was Irina something.

Irina Spirlea. She reached no 9 after that win, played until about 2000 and then the results end so she must have retired or got injured after that.

That is right....but she was quite young right?  I don't remember her being on she scene for long, but making a splash at the US Open and now gone.  Funny, she was portrayed as the villian over here after the 1997 US Open, racist etc, so I wonder if it got to her and she just stayed in Europe or went home.

Just seen her WTA profile and it says she retired in 2000. She was born in 1974 so would have been 26. Judging from her career highlights, she carried on playing after the 1997 breakthrough but didn`t reach the same heights, as you say. She did get to the semis of the SEC in 1997 and 1998 though.
