The wins in the qualifying round are particularly impressive!!!!No main draw as yet!
Great wins for Simon Childs and Chris Hartfield, hopefully they get decent rd1 draws and a chance to get their first world ranking points. Simon Childs is 18, he's one of our top juniors, only narrowly missed out on a place at junior Wimbledon. He's now concentrating on the senior tour, he had some success on the British tour earlier this year when he won the Doncaster leg, beating Nikki Peel in the final.

It's always good to see a young Brit earn his first ranking point on foreign soil. He is 18 so he has a chance at making it if he can get some momentum going.
anyone think his opponent retired when fearing the double bagel?
Great win for Simon Childs, congratulations to him on gaining his first ranking point. He's only just started concentrating on the seniors, it's excellent that he's earned his first point so quickly, not many manage that.
Here's some info on him:
He's 18, from Buckinghamshire. Says grass is his fav surface. His highest junior ranking was 158. His initial ambition for this year was to make the main draw of junior Wimbledon, he was gutted not to get a wc and then to lose in the first qualies rd. He ended his junior career on a high, reaching the final of a G4 in Winchester on outdoor carpet, losing to Josh Milton.
He's one of the few top British juniors who have combined tennis with A levels. He trains for 6 hours a day on top of his studying.
His career highlight was winning the British tour event in Doncaster in May, beating Nikki Peel in a close 3 set final.
