Australia F9 Happy Valley 10K

Andy Kennaugh, Chris Eaton and Myles Blake all remain down under for this event starting Monday 25th September. All in the main draw again. Alun Jones tops the pile here.

Outdoor hard courts. Nice for the tan !!!

We may see Robert Dee make an appearance again in the qualies but who knows as he seems to enter numerous events !

Main draw:

Rd1:

E Corrie [GB] v A Jones [Aus][1] [wr:270]

A Kennaugh [GB] [wr:770] v J Statham [NZ] [wr:814]

C Eaton [GB] [wr:811] v M Blake [GB] [wr:769]

Poor Ed Corrie, all that effort to qualify and he's now likely to not even get a ranking point for it Hopefully he can benefit from the experience.

Andy gets a lower ranked player for the 3rd successive tournament, hopefully he can take advantage this time. Statham is the New Zealand no 2, he's on a 4-match losing streak. The highlights of his year have been reaching 3 futures quarters, 2 on clay in Italy and 1 in Mexico.

I reckon Chris will beat Myles, although he's ranked lower, Chris has been very unlucky with his draws recently, playing much higher ranked and often seeded opposition in rd1 and he's given several players really close matches

This is actually a $15K and I bring good news!

Kennaugh won 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 against Statham, and you were right about thinking Chris Eaton would win, as he did in straight sets.

Three pairings with British interest. All lost. I can't be bothered to write it all out.

About time Andy Kennaugh won a big match. He's not done anything since March!

Good on him!

A shame that both Andy and Chris got beaten by Feeney but he's a tricky opponent with a really big serve. Slabba had a really close match against Feeney in Australia earlier this year, losing in two breakers. Alex said that Feeney's serve was massive even on clay.

Congrats to Andy on reaching his 2nd [?] quarter-final of the year, great win over Coehlo who's ranked several hundred places higher.

This will see Andy move up from 764 to approx 730
