Main draw

Great draw for Jacks. She faces unranked Russian qualifier Aleksandra Razumova.

Kinsella drew Greek 7th seed ranked 901 - Stamatia Fafaliou.

Watch this space...

Kinsella teams up with Razumova for a stab at the doubles. They face Laadan who lost to Jacks in qualifying and Austrian Birgit Ritschka.

Great wins from both of them How many ranking points do they get for qualifying ?

Great opportunity for Linsey to make rd2, her opponent is 17 and is ranked outside the top 1800 in juniors. Razumova has secured her world ranking by qualifying here.

Francesca also has a great chance of making rd2, her opponent has lost 15 of her last 16 matches, stretching all the way back to March. This year Fafaliou has played two other Brits, losing in rd1 to Mel South and Joanna Craven.

The main draw here is really weak !

I`m not sure if they do get ranking points if they lose in round one? Or is it that just for the men?

The men don't get ranking points for qualifying or losing in rd1 unless it's a challenger or ATP. I think the women do though, something like 0.75 pts for qualifying.

I think you`re right, I remember reading something now. I can`t find anywhere that confirms the points they get though.

Yes it does. Thanks.

UFF: You were spot on with the 0.75.

Unfortunately Kinsella lost 75 76(4)

At least she got the 0.75 for qualifying though!

A pretty good performance against the 7th seed and she now just needs to gain points in 1 more tournament to earn her first world ranking.

They make the rankings harder to gain in the womens, are they harder to lose than the men's rankings ?

Jacks lost 75 26 26 to Razumova. Disappointing.

Razumova and Kinsella lost in doubles round 1 63 64.
