Lol, Mackin is a very classical Indian name ! An easy mistake to make
Mackin is playing Pfeiffer this afternoon, should be an easy win for him as the German has only played 2 pro singles matches before this week, he lost in rd2 of futures qualifying in Jan 2005.
Alex Flock shouldn't present too many problems in tomorrow's qualifying round, he's currently ranked 990 and although he has a career high of 456 that was back in November 2004. This year, he's qualified for lots of futures events but has lost in rd1 of most of them. He got beaten 7-6, 6-0 by Neil Bamford earlier in the year. His best result for a long time came in June when he reached the quarters of a futures in Holland.
The only real problem for Alan in qualies could come if he's finding the transition from acrylic to clay difficult.

I think he will have to beat Flock unfortunately, there's never that many qualifiers in a futures, the page arrangement is poor so it looks like he'll only have to beat Pfeiffer but I think he'll have to beat Flock aswell.
I didn't actually check Flocks record - I just remembered it as one of those names that often qualified for British futures tournaments beating lower ranked Brits.
But you're right, Mackin should have too much quality for him though.

Yeah Flock had some good wins in futures qualies in GB earlier this year. He beat one of our top juniors Harry Skinner.
Mackin seems a lot more consistent now in dispatching the lower ranked players, a couple of years ago he'd often be losing to players ranked in the 700s but now he's got more weapons in his game, aswell as being very consistent from the baseline.
There really are only two qualifying rounds (*), so Alan only has to beat unranked Pfeiffer (who double bagelled another unranked player in QR1) to reach the main draw, he won't have to play Flock.
