Jamie did plan to play the qualies but he's still involved in ATP los angeles having reached the semis [playing later this evening].
Jamie and Colin are still teaming up in doubles later this week.
Both Jamie Baker and Colin have pretty good draws. Jamie should breeze through to rd3 as both his prospective rd2 opponents have no ranking points, aren't even registered with the ITF and haven't played a pro tournament before. Jamie's seeded to face American Alex Reichel in rd3, Jamie will be big favourite as Reichel is ranked over 650 places lower at 942 and has only won 3 matches this year. He lost in Cordoba challenger qualifying in his last tournament.
Colin has an unranked Canadian 16 year old in rd2 today which is just as well as he had problems with flights last night and didn't arrive in Vancouver until 2am GMT so he's suffering from jetlag. Luckily he was able to make the qualies sign-in deadline via phone. If he makes it through to rd3 he could have a tricky match against Czech Ladislav Chramosta who's ranked 491, about 100 places lower than Colin. Chramosta reached the Granby challenger quarter-finals last week before losing to Noam Okun, beating 4th seed Cecil Mamiit along the way [wr:208] so he's clearly on fine form.
Qualifying OOP shows Baker second on court 1 and fleming third on court 2 with play starting at 11am. though how many hours are canada behind from Britain? i think its 5 hours, if so bakers match should be finished

Vancouver's all the way over on the West coast - similar longitude to LA, so you're looking at 8 hours difference. should still be over by now, though.

On the Tennis Channel over here they said Jamie was going to continue playing doubles with Butorac in Vancouver. I watched that final on TV, you can read my thoughts in the LA section. I thought they were a good team and was kinda happy that they would play together in the future. I can't wait to see the draw to see who Jamie is playing with.
I would not be shocked to discover that you know are more informed than the tennis channel though as I know you are in contact with Colin.
Those are shocking results, Jamie should have cruised through that match and at the very least Colin should have been competitive in his match.
Another good chance wasted, Jamie is going to slip back bellow 300 as he is defending 8 points from last year, he needs to pull out some results soon or this tour is going to be a bust.
Martin Lee is also in the main draw, he has drawn the 3rd seed Yen-Hsun Lu.
Philippousis has been replaced by LL Eric Tano (USA) - The question is, why was it not Jamie B? He was next in line for a LL spot, or was he already on a plane to next event? Or did he fail to sign LL list?
didnt someone say they had changed the LL procedure so its out of a hat now rather than in ranking order to try and stop seeds throwing matches as such?
