Richard should win in straights, hopefully he won't slip up like last week !
Is he defending his points from making the Tarzana challenger semis this week or was it last week ?
Incidentally, last year in Granby, Richard lost in rd1 to Andy Murray 6-2, 7-6.

His ranking slipped 23 places this week so presumably it was last week?
In the doubles quarters, Richard and Simon Stadler have the 3rd seeds Lu and Moser who won 6-7, 6-3, 10-8 in rd1.
Quite a bizarre and worrying scoreline in Richard's match, shows he's not really comfortable yet with the transition from grass-hard. However, he did well to grind out a win.
Bopanna won 7-6[5], 7-6[6] in rd1 against Czech Jakub Hasek [wr:492]. Bopanna is ranked 298 with a career high of 230 reached earlier this year. Bopanna lost in rd1 of Aptos aswell last week and the week before he lost in rd1 qualies for ATP Newport. His best results of the year have been reaching the Winnetka Challenger quarters at the start of July on hard and qualifying for ATP Halle in June on grass where he lost 7-6, 6-2 to Federer in rd1.
