Hey I admit I am biased coz I like Martin Lee, but I am shocked he and Richard B were left out.  Maybe there are reasons that I don't know about, but Mackin has shown me nothing more in either singles or doubles than those two players. 

I assume it is Andy and Jamie in the doubles, but if something happens to Alex or Andy on Friday I'd much rather have Richard or Martin playing singles on grass come Sunday. Now if the tie was on clay instead of grass I'd understand more....just my thoughts.

i really am not a fan of bates captincy, he switches the squad around so often.

here are the last 4 teams:

Vs Isreal 06: Andy, Alex, Jamie D, Alan

Vs Serbia: Greg, Andy, Arvs, James A

Vs Swiss: Greg, Andy, David, Alan

Vs Isr 05: Greg, Andy, Alex, David

now we know there have been a few injuries/weddings (or guessing with david) and we also know there was a situation with alex vs serbia.

ok, probably the 'best' team would be Greg, Andy, Alex and James A and this is one we have never put out for various reasons. At the end of the day the manager/captin has to sort it out, thats the only thing he is paid to do, i understand its difficult, for instance unless alex will be given a singles match he wont want to play. The media blackout surrounding david is also typical of british tennis and quite frustrating. Personally i'd offer greg the captincy now, i think most of the players, esp the younger ones, respect greg and i'm not so sure they do so Jermey.
