This is pretty much a dream draw for Josh! A dutch player (who I'd never heard of) who seems to prefer the clay to anthing else. Van Germeden has played only Challenger events this year. A great opportunity for Josh. lets hope he can capitalise!
Actually he played RG this year, went out in the first round to Monaco though.
Not impossible for Josh, but it would be a very good win indeed if he can manage it. Van Gemerden may be a 27yr-old journeyman but he seems a pretty good one, and is ranked around the 100 mark while Josh is nearer 400. Hopefully youth and grass will do the trick!

Josh is the second lowest ranked participant (Jamie Degado is the lowest) and it the 'worst' qualifier by nearly 150 ranking places. Just to show how well he's done to qualify. I think he has a chance against Van Gemerden although the fact that no one's ever heard of him could be bad news if he has an unusual game style. But hopefully Josh can do it! I've gone for him in 4, heart over head maybe but optimism can't hurt!

I'll be hopeful and go for Josh in 4.. He done really well in qualifying and maybe with a few matches already played he might have an edge in some sense even though Van Gemerden is a few hundred places above him in the rankings.

currently 3-3 on serve. Josh serving, struggling to win this service game, been to deuce a couple of times. Hopefully he can win the game and get confidence to break serve.
