Emily is still recovering from an injury. She was a very late withdrawal in Glasgow.
I suspect Hannah has withdrawn. The last few weeks seem to have taken a lot out if her

As expected, Hannah has withdrawn

Very sensible - she was running on fumes

pleased about this as she needed to recover smile although I don't know if plans for AO now scuppered or if she's got some wriggle room ?

This week and next week are the last weeks to get for points towards AO entry - Season end rankings on 16 November being used for entry into all tournaments on the Australian swing. As she isn't entered anywhere she will need to rely on where her current points will rank her and thus withdrawals to get into AO.

Are the 16 Nov rankings noted as official season end rankings? I'm asking for a friend.

Yes. The rankings immediately after the WTA Finals are what go into the record books as Year end rankings.

Thank you - is it the same for the men's, after the Tour Finals?

and , out of interest, what do the ITF juniors count as their year end?

Leticia lost, she was a set and a break up at one point then it all fell away.

I watched most of the second set - she certainly had her chances but got a bit sloppy, a bit static and it all went south

I waasn't expecting this - Emily must be on the verge of a singles comeback. They have a first round bye, so an extra day as well

L16:- Emily Appleton (GBR) / Lisa Zaar (SWE) CR327 (172+155) [1] v Bye
