I tried to find where he was born but, to my surprise, it was in fact Germany.

Presumably he has an American army Dad or some sort who served in Germany and they stayed there and went to Czechia?

A wee bit off the mark - from an interview on a web site called Tennis Tourtalk:

You represent the Czech Republic; your name sounds English and you were born in Karlsruhe, Germany. Can you tell us a bit about your background?

My father is from New Zealand, my Mum is from the Czech Republic, my parents lived in Germany, and I was born there. I lived my first two years in Germany and then we moved to New Zealand for seven years. Then, we moved back to Europe because of tennis and I have been in the Czech Republic since 2014.

Poor Henry     Poor SC, must have been poised for so long.

Henry was broken for 5-6* in the second set and broke back to 15 for 6-6.

The TB certainly wasn't a case of keeping going with serve. Quite a number of mini breaks and SP/MPs on serve. Henry hsd 5 SPs and was beaten on the 7th MP against him.

I didn't see any of it but was following the score from towards the end of the second set. Some battle.

Not a million miles off - replace us army dad for New Zealand chap and the basic story is pretty close!
